Now Open :: The Line Hotel

A little bit of L.A., a whole lot of ATX. Meet The LINE Austin, now open.

111 East Cesar Chavez

All you can think about this week is National Rosé Day. While your vision has been clouded with cork-popping plans, the highly anticipated The LINE Austin opened its doors downtown. Here, the top five things about the hotel that would make for great convo over a landslide of wine this weekend...

1. Caffeine Scene: Remember the first time you heard "But First, Coffee"? It came from L.A. cult favorite coffee shop, Alfred, founded by a former Dallasite. The first in the country outside of Los Angeles, the new Austin outpost offers a full cafe menu - including their signature matcha - as well as take away bites like eggs benedict kolaches.

2. On Cloud Dine: The hotel's lakeside restaurant, Arlo Grey, is run by Top Chef 10 winner and supreme cool girl, Kristen Kish. Get hooked by her culinary stylings like ricotta beignets with creme fraiche and caviar, then disappear for a bathroom selfie against the Korean Cinderella graffiti display, pictured below. Listen up - the sound system plays a loop of a woman reading the book in Korean. The high-design bar serves cocktails like the mezcal-infused Devil's Backbone, or you can order healthy, booze-free drinks from Juice Society off the menu.
3. Wish You Were Here: The in-house retail store has an expertly-curated assortment of very-Austin souvenirs and sundries from rad labels like JM Drygoods.
4. Culture Vulture: Throughout the 428 guest rooms, you'll see artwork by Texas artists. The property has a dedicated artist’s studio that will be a go-to creative destination of the hotel's residency program.
5. The Sky's The Limit: Something to look forward to: the fall opening of P6, a rooftop lounge with sweeping views of Lake Austin where you can grab a burger and a beer.
