You vowed to swear off sugar for January. Then you remembered New Orleans loves to take your promises and kick them to the curb.

Celebrate the official start of Mardi Gras during the King's Day King Cake Kick-Off Party at Bywater Bakery this Sunday, January 6, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The street will be rockin' with a day filled with live music, Mardi Gras Indians and so many King Cake options you'll be turning cartwheels. Step right up to the little red house to experience eight different flavors available whole or by the slice. The buttery brioche Carnival King Cake comes with seven hand-made fillings for you to choose from: Chantilly, Cajun Bouille, Praline, Apple, Cheesecake, Strawberry and Strawberry Cheesecake. Savory tip: you'll be the first to snag the bake team's brand new creations of Crawfish, Boudin, Spinach and Artichoke cakes.

Don't even try to put up a fight on Twelfth Night.
