You had that cute Halloween costume all planned, then neglected your ab workouts and spray tan.

Stay covered up this weekend and celebrate with a sweet tradition instead. Sugar skulls from Melissa Guerra, our fave spicier spin on Williams-Sonoma, are easy to make in honor of Day of the Dead (November 1st and 2nd). Buy a kit to make them from scratch, then add vibrant decorations with the store’s icing kits. The skulls are an offering to dearly departed souls on Dia de los Muertos, given along with their favorite foods and other gifts.

After licking the icing out of the bowl, you’ll have no business near a skimpy outfit.
