You were loving your cute new club chairs… until you saw the exact same set (with cuter accent pillows) at your frenemy’s cocktail party.

Forgo the furniture chain and snag an original piece from local Material Recovery. Indie designer Clare Watters rescues vintage loveseats and chairs from second-hand stores, strips them to the frame and reupholsters them with intricately embroidered antique textiles from Central Asia. The green-minded gal also turns out stunning throw pillows, lampshades and original textiles, so you can ensure everything in your pad is one-of-a-kind.

Now, if only that catty copycat would stop shopping at your favorite boutique.
